Old Main , originally called "Main Building" is the first major structure of significance built on the campus of Pennsylvania State University. The original building was completed in 1863 & contained classrooms, laboratories, offices, a chapel & dorm rooms for 400 students. The limestone used in the construction was quarried from the land directly in front of the building. The original building was deemed unsafe & was razed in 1929. This new building, completed in 1930. matched the previous building's footprint & was christened "Old Main." This is a pen & ink sketch with a watercolor finish. The pen & ink adds a great amount of detail to the painting, while the watercolor adds a vibrant & realistic finishing touch. - Size: 11" x 14"l Fits in a standard 16" x 20" mat & frame. - Size: 8"x 10" | Fits in a standard 8" x 10" mat & frame.
