This painting was created for the Yosemite Renaissance yearly international art competition. The subject matter needed to be part of Yosemite or the Sierra Nevada range. My process in painting original works of art begins with a copy of a drawing from one of my many sketchbooks. I work out colors & treatment of the subject matter & then redraw the image on watercolor paper & begin to paint the feelings that I have about the subject. I love color & light & I try to capture both in my paintings. "Leopard Lilies" is an original painting by Lisa Livoni. Unframed but matted to a 10"x10" over all size, the painting has a 6"x6" image area & was painted with Winsor & Newton watercolors on Fabriano Artistico watercolor paper. The painting arrives with a foam core backing in a cellophane wrapper. Acrylic stand not included. I have been told that my work makes people happy, that it makes them feel good every time they look at it! That is always wonderful to hear!
