This listing is for one 1954 French 100 Franc Coin, from France, as pictured. The events of the Second World War affected the coinage substantially in France. in 1941, aluminium replaced aluminium-bronze in the 50 centimes, & 1, 2, & 5 francs as copper & nickel were diverted into the War Effort. in 1942, following German occupation & the installation of the French Vichy State, a new, short lived series of coins was released which included holed 10 & 20 centimes in zinc. 50 centimes, & 1 & 2 francs were aluminium. in 1944 this series was discontinued & withdrawn & the previous issue was resumed.
