This is a piece of paper with some fun history. This is a U.S. Post Officer Department Application for Domestic Money Order. Right away differences between then & today can be seen. First, there used to be a Division of Money Orders. Then there's the application itself & needing to order a money order. Today you just tell the clerk how much you want the money order to be for. & then there's the sentence that says, 'Spaces above this line are for the Postmaster's record, to be fill in by him.' Today there are plenty of women postmasters. One more worth mentioning is on the back which indicates you could apply for a money order directly from your postal carrier. It measures 5-1/2 x 3-1/4 inches & is printed on paper. Very interesting document & probably most especially for a postal employee. Would look nice framed. You will receive 1 form.
