A nice ornamental tile made by the Boston Valley Terra Cotta Company. This heavy terra cotta tile is hand carved & features a woman's face in the center surrounded by a wreath made of leaves type border. The detail is very nice in the leaves that overlap around the sides. The face & hair & eyes have nice detail on the female figure in the center. It is made from thick heavy terra cotta clay & glazed in a pale matte green glaze & very durable. The tile measures 6" wide by 1.375" thick in the center. It would look great as a tile in your Victorian style fireplace or fancy brick exterior or hang it as a single tile on the wall in your Victorian home. The back has a notch for hanging on the wall & is stamped with the Boston Valley Terra Cotta stamp. The quality is first rate on this hand carved ornamental tile.
