Back in the 1970's & 1980's, a version of Basque Pelota / Cesta Punta also known as Jai Alai became quite a popular game in Jakarta, Indonesia & the folk art followed. This little amphibian has his cesta or racquet over his shoulder & he looks like he's on his way to compete in a match. He's got a smirk on his face & his big wide eyes show a look of excitement. Even if you don't know anything about Jai Alai, this little critter could still be a cute conversation piece to display. People will undoubtedly ask you what the frog is carrying & you can make them guess until they give up.
