Description
The artwork is a textile quilt showcasing an intricate landscape scene. It features tactile variations that suggest different natural elements. At the top of the quilt is a sky made from white fabric with intricate stitching to create the impression of clouds. Below the sky is a section representing the sea, composed of various shades of blue fabric, with stitch patterns mimicking the movement of water waves. Transitioning from the sea to the shore, there is a strip of gray & brown fabric, artfully arranged to represent a pebbly beach. Below the beach, the artwork portrays layers of rolling hills or terrain. These layers are made from an array of colored fabrics in green, brown, orange, & red tones, carefully pieced together to form sweeping contours that mimic a verdant landscape. Cotton fabrics were layered & free motion raw edge quilted with variegated cotton threads on a layer of 80/20 cotton batting. Black cotton binding. Size: 24 inches (Width) x 36 inches (Height) x 1" (depth), stretched on a wood frame. Wall pieces are constructed like a quilt the top, batting & back are quilted to enhance the design & secure the pieces together. The binding is cut extra wide, sewn on using the continuous strip method & stretched over a canvas-covered wood frame the extra-wide binding fabric is wrapped to the back of the stretcher bars & secured. The wood frame is sturdy but lightweight, & the piece hangs on the wall like a painting. Wire hanging kit is included. Original one-of-a-kind art quilt, framed & ready for hanging.
