Description

PLEASE READ SO THAT YOU UNDERSTAND THE SYSTEM. New to Dungeon Lab? Be sure to check out our Starter Kits. They'll give you everything you need for less than it costs to purchase the items a la carte. Then use various item pages to then expand your set. The Dungeon Lab system was designed to provide dungeon terrain that is both highly modular & quick to set up. Most pieces are able to be instantly swapped out on the fly, letting you reveal room contents as they are encountered by the players. Is there a trap? When it's triggered, replace the floor tile with a trap tile. Doors & chests are hinged to open & in the former case you can even swap the doors themselves within their frames on the fly. The system isn't meant to create a fully enclosed space. Instead, you can play with as much or little detail as you want for the walls. Gaps between wall sections are created in a way that looks natural regardless of whether there is an adjoining piece or not. You can also choose between low, medium & high walls. The goal was to provide a pleasant aesthetic that fully suggests the dungeon environment without blocking view of important details. You begin with an Undertiles base, which can be connected together either with clips or magnets. There are separate pieces for both rooms & walls/doors. You then add floor tiles & doors, which attach to the undertiles with your choice of magnets or pegs. The "small" versions of floor tiles are when you need to place a floor tile on top of a wall undertile. That is all you need for a basic map. From there, it's a matter of how much you want to "dress" the dungeon. Add wall & corner undertiles, then place walls on top of them in your choice of low, medium or high versions. Doorways & walls also have subtle holes into which you can hook trim elements like torches, chains & shields. Finally, there is an assortment of props that flesh out the contents of the rooms. These props are simply set in place; they don't have magnet or clip spots. This allows you to place them wherever you want, including on top of each other. & because the system is 32mm scale it means that you can actually use ANY dungeon props ranging from 28 to 32mm scale you're not limited to just the official Dungeon Lab props. When ordering undertiles, you will have a choice of which connection type you want: clip or magnetic: Clip includes enough of them for all pieces, including posts to use for the tiles that will be placed on these bases. Magnetic uses 4x1mm cylinder magnets to connect the undertiles to each other, & 5mm sphere magnets to connect the floors & walls. We do include the clips that will hold the cylinder magnets, but we do not include the magnets themselves. There are two material options for Dungeon Lab: FDM (PLA+ filament) at a resolution of 120 microns. PLA+ is derived from organic materials rather than petroleum. It is more durable than resin but does have lower resolution, which means slightly less quality in the details. ABS-Like
