note: see my Shop for more listings like this :) https://beadbarista.etsy.com Rare Vintage Ladakh Nepal Kashmir Tibet India Turquoise Coral Bib Necklace This is something you don't see everyday.... a beautiful ceremonial heirloom necklace "bib" from Ladakh Ladakh is located in the Himalayas in Nepalese territory which is in dispute. Some years ago, when I was in Srinagar Kashmir India, I had the opportunity to travel to Ladakh but was too afraid to undertake the dangerous bus ride over the mountains. This necklace bib is most likely from the early 1900s & is in very good condition. The necklace is a substantial weight at approx. 259 grams, I do not see any loose connections & it fastens securely. The 'spikes' on the bottom represent the champakali/flower bud from Champa evergreen tree which grows in the Northern part of India. The Necklace has 22 of these buds which tested positive for a high grade of silver and/or sterling. I haven't tested the other silver beads but can do this if asked.
