This is a lovely Franklin Mint Collector's Nautical Pocket Watch with decorative wood & brass display storage jewelry box designed in association with The National Maritime Historical Society & crafted in China. The elegant gold toned colored pocket watch features a cover decorated with raised scrolls, leaves & vines, & a compass in the middle of a sculpted sun with embossed rays radiating out from the center. The shiny gold toned back cover of the watch is stamped "Franklin Mint Collector Watches". The pocket watch opens to a clock face that features a detailed image of the famous British Clipper Ship, the Cutty Sark in the center, with the National Maritime Historical Society seal on the inside of the lid. The watch is hanging from a 13" gold toned metal chain with a latch hook attached to the end. The pocket watch comes displayed inside an elegant mahogany colored hexagonal shaped wooden jewelry storage box with brass metal hardware & a hinged lid. The top of the lid is decorated with a colorful image of the ship in the center of a raised gold colored rope border & the bottom of the box features four felt pads & the original Franklin Mint & "Crafted in China" labels. The inside of the lid features a mirrored "National Maritime Historical Society" emblem with a blue border decorated with stars & the title " The Franklin Mint Cutty Sark The Golden Age Of Sail Nautical Watch". The pocket watch measures approximately 2" in diameter & the storage box measures 2 7/8" tall & 3 3/8" in diameter. The watch is in good working order with a new battery & shows wear on the finish including heavy scratches. The display box shows wear on the wood & metal finish including scratches, scuffs, tiny nicks & dings.
