"The Library of Thorvald Boeck " was painted in 1902 by Norwegian female artist Harrier Backer. She was a pioneer among female artists both in Scandinavia & Europe in general. She was mostly known for her detailed interior paintings, use of rich colors & light & shadow combinations. This piece depicts an interior scene with the entire wall consisted of book shelves. The subject of the painting was the house of Thorvald Boeck, famous for assembling what was the largest private library of its time in Norway. Notice: this product is a print, not an original piece!
