Note the original manufactures price tag...'$7.50'! Shillito's Department Store was a Cincinnati, Ohio, landmark. Founded by John Shillito. in 1830. The building pictured was built in 1879 & was expanded, modernized, & sheathed in Art Deco glass & limestone in 1937. It was Cincinnati's oldest department store & the biggest. A one store operation, they expanded into the suburbs & anchored several malls beginning in 1960 & continued until 1969. 1970 saw them expand into neighboring Kentucky. They were bought out by Federated & over time were re-branded & consolidated as Macy's, if the stores remained open. 3 1/2" wide x 57" long. Lined. White taffeta tipping. Label acts as a tail keeper.
