A beautiful example of such a work is the Peplos Kore from the Athenian Acropolis. Scholars have suggested that the purpose of statues such as the Peplos Kore & other korai was to serve as votive offerings, perhaps in this case to the goddess Athena. However, it is also clear that the ancient Greeks delighted in creating & admiring these stylized images of beautiful maidens. So in essence, korai were meant to please both human & divine audiences. All our bronze items are cast in Greece, using the traditional 'lost wax' method. As nothing is mass-produced, there will inevitably be slight variations in patination & coloring. Each piece is, therefore, unique. (25-569-A) Ancient Greek Women Kore Small Bronze Sculpture - Maiden Korai Museum Replica
