This product is 100% Wool, used in needlepoint. Each skein contains 10 yds. of wool. This is a 3-ply fiber is & with the ability to ply it is suggested to use on 10, 12, 13, 14, 16 & 18 ct. needlepoint canvas depending on how the combination of plies are used. This is used by many stitchers the same way as they would have used Paternayan. The colors are comparable & we will list the color number from Brown Sheep, & then offer the closest Paternayan color for your convenience. Over the years we have had many customers who love this product, but due to changes in the industry, we have decided to use only one three ply product going forward, as such, we are not reordering this product. Each skein equates to 8 yds of wool, pre cut from a hank, the measurements are as follows; 10 strands / skein, @ length of 30 inches = 300 inches / 36 in per yd. = 8.3333 yds / skein. Brown Sheep colors are more dense in nature than Paternayan, & the yarn has more body & stretch than Paternayan. We will be listing the dye lots that we have available with this product, & if we do not have a full skein, we will discount the remaining quantity, or partial skein.
