The name of the print is "Skyward" a photo that he captured while standing in a rice paddy in South Carolina at dawn. Thia artist was a dedicated conservationist who photographed nature in many habitats & worked in a dye transfer print method in which colors are laid down individually on exceptional quality paper. This dye transfer method makes a print unlike other color prints. This lovely solid wood framed print is accompanied by a certificate of Authenticity signed by Elvis J. Starh, Pres. of the National Audubon Society & William F. King of the Franklin Mint Gallery for Fine Arts. This print is signed by Schmitt in the lower right-hand corner. in this print "Skyward", the artist hid in a blind at dawn in a South Carolina rice paddy to capture the American Green-winged Teals as they explode from the water & climb in a single spring in their ascent forcing the pond water into a cataract. This framed print has been gently used & cared for in a collector's home since 1978. The frame is in excellent condition, light stained wood, 1.5 inch deep & 1/2 inch front show.
