The Nokia Beetle, Fantasy Circuit Board Insect has been carefully fabricated from discarded & obsolete computer circuit board components & hand painted plastic packaging. I have reverse painted onto plastic packaging to create glossy beetle wing cases. Just as does reverse painting on glass, the plastic gives a shiny surface & a richness to the colours, perfect for glossy wing cases. He has a winspan of 8cm (just over three inches) & comes set against a lightly textured, bright white background in a natural pale wooden style box frame which measures 19 cm (7.5 inches) squared approximately. Other frame colours are available in black, white or grey. Each one of my Computer Bugs is a one off, original artwork...there are no two alike. It is my hope that my Up cycled Insect Artworks help to highlight the dangers of planned obsolescence & raise awareness of e-waste & plastic pollution in our natural environments.
