Description
A nice carved statue of a Pharmacist done by German wood carver Georg Heisswolf of Rothenburg Germany. This wooden figure has nice detail & shows the Pharmacist holding his medicine books & wearing his long white doctor jacket. The title is seen on the base which reads Apotheker - Sonst nach Schmerzen gnd Frau. The translation seems to mean "otherwise after pain & woman" The medical books are marked Trix & Watte. It measures 6.5" tall by 2.25' wide at the base. The underside has the Georg Heisswolf Rothenburg Germany ink stamp. This wooden statue looks very nice overall with good detail in the face & body. We note some slight wear to the paint on the upper corners of the books & back of the jacket from long term storage. A great piece for your German carved statue collection.
