The tour was designed to promote the band's tenth studio album Recycler, which featured hit singles like "Doubleback", "Concrete & Steel", & "My Head's in Mississippi". An old west version of the song "Doubleback" was included in the Robert Zemeckis film Back to the Future Part III, & bassist Dusty Hill was also able to convince Zemeckis to give the band a cameo in the movie. ZZ Top swung by the set one night while filming & Hill told Zemeckis, "it looks like we belong in this movie. I mean you don't hardly even need to use makeup on us."
