Saint Veronica Orthodox icon Available in 2 Sizes: Medium size - 10cm x 13.5cm / 3.93inches x 5.31inches Large size - 12cm x 16.5cm / 4.72inches x 6.49inches All icons are made of MDF wood (solid pressed wood). Once the base is cut to size, it undergoes a preparation by hand so the surface of the wood is well-prepared to hold the mounted print. Our theme prints are high quality replicas of an original hierography. Finally, finishing touches are applied with a dark brown color around the icon borders & backside. Each icon is inspected for quality assurance. Saint Veronica is known as the woman who offered a cloth to Jesus so He could wipe His face on the way to His crucifixion (The image of his face was subsequently imprinted on the cloth). The cloth is believed to exist today in the Vatican & is considered one of the most treasured relics of the Church. There are no legends from the period which speak of Veronica either before or after her act of compassion. We do not know when she was born or when she died. She is literally lost to history.
