Description

Presented is a fine pair of sterling silver shakers made by Currier & Roby after an American colonial pair by John Edwards (1670-1746). The shakers are done in traditional form with removable pierced covers. These could be used for salt & pepper, cinnamon & sugar, powdered sugar or whatever you like. Each shaker is stamped on the underside with a maker's mark for Currier & Roby, Sterling, & a product number. The shakers are also engraved on the underside with 'Reproduction after John Edwards, 1670-1746'. I believe the originals are in the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. The shakers are in great condition overall. They have some surface wear commensurate with age & light use & some small dents & dings here & there, but this is fairly minor. The removable covers fit tightly into the bodies. There are no major dents, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals, no breaks, & no repairs. The shakers measure 2 1/4 inches in diameter at the rim & 3 inches tall. The weight is 148.7 grams or 5.2 ounces. Currier & Roby American Colonial Shakers Repro Sterling
