Description
This is a full sized cremation urn. It has a volume of just over a gallon, so it will be fine for human ashes or pet ashes. The inside is glazed with a bright white glaze. The outside is glazed in Speckled Hen. I made this urn by hand on the wheel out of stoneware clay. The lid has two parts, the inside is stoneware while the top is wood. in this case I turned a piece of curly Maple that has some knots. I finished the wooden part of the lid with Tung Oil for a durable finish. I spent extra time finessing the details of this piece. The lid fits into a deep & wide galley. The urn can be sealed by an adhesive. If you intend to place the urn in a cemetery, check with the local codes to make sure it is acceptable. For example, some localities require a threaded lid. Also check to make sure this urn will fit. The dimensions are listed below. This urn is 10 7/8 inches tall to the top of the lid, 9 3/4 inches to the rim & 6 3/4 inches in diameter. The opening is 3 1/8 inches in diameter. I will ship this funerary urn double boxed for additional safety in transit. The bottom of the urn, & all unglazed portions have been sanded smooth after firing. The photos are of the actual urn, which is ready to ship.
