I just love this artist's unique style! Her pieces are just so playful, fun, bright, & breezy. This Liz Taylor portrait of hers is absolute perfectionwith a frame to match! The painting is acrylic paint with a light glossy varnish on a 10" by 8" canvas panel. The painting is in good condition overall but it does have patches of unpainted (but primed & varnished) canvas throughout, smudges & fingerprints in the wet paint, errant paint speckles & streaks, visible pen mark outlines below the paint as well as some intentionally used on top of the paint, lower paint levels (in color & texture) that can be seen through the upper layers, dark gray speckles of discoloration from friction, & little bits of dried paint & paintbrush bristles & tiny dust fibers caught up in the surface. The finish is mostly glossy with some areas that are more satin from the varnish wearing thin or being thinly applied. The painting is signed "JLK" in ballpoint pen in the lower right corner & the back reads, "'LIZ' by Jan Kissick" & lists the date as "2022." The wood frame looks like it's been stamped with a faint pattern to create a light scallop & dot pattern along the edges & has a metallic gold foil wrap covered in dark oil rubbed bronze pattern as well as what looks like a cherry red wood stain with a satin varnish. It's in decent condition overall but it definitely reads strongly as "rustic or "shabby chic" due to its prominent wood grain, errant fine white paint speckles, color variations, errant white paint speckles, little scratches & dents (some of which expose the red or pink of the stain or bare wood below), & extra wear & chipping at the outer corners. The frame increases the overall dimensions to 12 3/4" by 10 3/4". I tried to capture the painting in as many light conditions as possible so you can see how its appearance varies based on the lighting. The colors on this piece can vary dramatically based on the lighting & surrounding decor; the piece is much more cool & and muted in low light & more bold, warm, & colorful in bright light. Make sure you eye the photos closely & are okay with the overall condition before purchasing. Note that because the finish is glossy this painting should optimally be displayed where it doesn't strongly catch bright artificial or natural light (which will create an unpleasant glare), so be prepared to have flexibility with where you place it for maximum impact.
