Description

On this eye-catching mineral specimen, we see Galena the shiny grey metallic-looking chunk partially covered by a coating of white & grey tabular Dolomite, & crowned with little sheets of Quartz crystals, which seem to open out towards the viewer in evocative triangular forms. There's a hint of yellow on parts of the quartz, which may be traces of sulphur. Galena a sulfide mineral with a hardness of Mohs 2.5 has been used as an ore for lead (and sometimes silver too) since ancient times. & is it surprising that Dolomite a calcium magnesium carbonate mineral with a hardness of 3.5 is found hanging out here with the Galena? Not at all, they're like best friends: Dolomite is often found near lead ores. Metaphysically, Galena is said to be super-grounding, while Dolomite is supposed to be centering. Add Quartz to the mix to amplify all of that, & with the triangular forms broadcasting it out, & you've probably got a blast of balanced power in a small, but heavy, package! This stone is from Morocco. (Note: as Galena is a lead mineral, wash hands after handling.) Size: 2.5" x 2.5" x 2.25" Galena With Quartz Crystals & Dolomite, Mineral Specimen From Morocco
