This urn body is from genuine curly walnut burl. No veneers used in this urn. Lumber was harvested by David Austin from Charlotte NC & carefully dried by me in my new solar kiln. This is an adult (up to 175 pounds) bottom loading memorial urn made from stunning curly walnut burl(body) & black walnut (top). It has been handpicked, precisely milled & then handcrafted from the finest of hardwoods. This urn measures 6 3/8" x 6 3/8" x 6 5/8" outside & is solidly built. It weighs over 2 pounds. The body was cut from 1 piece of curly walnut burl & then book matched horizontally. This gives a smoothly flowing grain figure around the tightly & precisely vertical mitered corners. The top edge is precisely routed with a "cove" profile. The top is from black walnut & is book matched. The bottom is also book matched figured. The bottom (last 2 images) is recessed into the body for greater long-term stability. Urn is accessed by removing the 4 high quality Phillips head screws. Screw holes will be placed prior to shipping. Four nonslip pads have already been attached to the bottom. Shop name has been branded into the bottom. Outside is finished with several coats of wipe on high gloss polyurethane & hand buffed with 4-0 steel wool & paste wax to a satin smooth finish. Inside has been finely sanded. This urn should be proudly displayed in the home as a memorial to your beloved. It is totally different from any other urn out there.
