This is a visually stunning bottom loading adult (up to 165 pounds) handcrafted memorial/cremation urn made from seamlessly joined hardwoods. The stunning figured dark curly ambrosia maple body, top & bottom as well as the vertical corner walnut dovetail spline accents (8 total) were handpicked, milled & built to complement each other. Final result is beautiful & also functional. This urn measures 5 7/8" x 5 7/8" x 7 3/4" outside & is solidly built. It weighs almost 2 1/2 pounds. The body was cut from 1 piece of beautifully figured dark curly ambrosia maple which was initially book matched vertically & was then book matched horizontally. This gives a beautiful flowing grain figure around the vertical tightly mitered corners as well as near mirror images vertically. The top edge is precisely routed with a "cove" profile & is book matched curly ambrosia maple. Double walnut dovetail splines are in each vertical corner. The bottom is book matched curly ambrosia maple (last 2 images). The bottom is inset into the body. I have branded the bottom with my shop name. Urn is accessed by removing the 4 high quality Phillips screws. Screw heads will be precisely recessed into the base. Inside is finely sanded. Nonslip pads have also been applied. Outside is finished with several coats of wipe on high gloss polyurethane & hand buffed with 4-0 steel wool & paste wax. This urn should be proudly displayed in the home as a memorial to your beloved during these difficult times. It is uniquely different from any other urn out there & would be perfect in most any setting.
