We cannot guarantee a Christmas delivery if order is placed AFTER October 1. Custom-made fireplace cover. We use solid wood & these covers weigh between 40lb-70lbs depending on the size & design. INSERT: We make the inserts 3/8 inches smaller than the dimensions you give us so it fits snug inside the fireplace. Because the doors are front heavy we recommend you fasten the insert with tapcon screws. This cover is best used for a non-working fireplace. Or a fireplace you don't plan on using. COVER: This specific item has hinges to make the doors functional. The cover overlaps the opening around 1 inch on the sides & 4-5 inches at the top where the arch is at. COLOR: We know picking out the right color can be difficult. Stain samples are available AFTER ordering. We do not send stain samples if an order has not been submitted.
