Description
This Japanese porcelain tea pot with brass dobin (top-handle teapot) features red oxide , blue, green, black & gold accents on a grayish porcelain ground. Cylindrical shape with brass handles & a finger pinch lid typical of the designs made in the 1920s & 1930s. This is a beautiful vintage piece from the 1930s & possibly as late as the early 1940s. It features young Chinese courtesan children playing in a landscape near a wall. Beautiful colors & nice gold accents decorate the piece. On the reverse there is an additional small landscape vignette with Asian characters that I believe wishes prosperity, good luck & happiness. Dimensions: Teapot: 6.25" - width 5" height 4.5" deep 32 Oz - capacity Condition: Excellent vintage nearly antique condition, with only one minor flea bite on The inside of the lid lip. (It's not visible & stable) the pot is very attractive & has a lovely design!
