Description

A nice early trophy from Seattle's historic Rainier Club from 1900. This club was founded in 1888 in Seattle as a members only men's social club which is still open today with expanded diverse membership. This silverplated double handled trophy has ornate handles & base foot with a small leaf & scroll design. The trophy was presented to George M Paschall for the Handicap Billard (Billiard) Championship held at the Rainier Club in Seattle in the Autumn of 1900. One side is ornately engraved with the information listed above. It appears Billiard was misspelled as Billard. Our research indicates George Paschall was a salesman in Seattle in 1900 per the census. it measures 4.5" tall by 7" wide at the handles. it looks nice & original overall but we note the back side rim has been bent inwards at the top 1". It's likely this can be reworked back in place. The base is marked Quadruple Plate Meriden Conn - Wilcox Silverplate Co. A cool piece of early Seattle Rainier Club history seldom seen. Sold as found.
