Wood & metal pendant, mid century, in original Luria's velvet box, exotic figural wood with silver metal overlay in biomorphic shape, on simple chain. Pendant measures 2 1/4" x 1/2", not including loop at top. Chain is 19" with simple hook closure. Unsigned. Silver metal may be chrome, stainless or other very bright & shiny metal. The original velvet box has an impression of the pendant, as it has been kept in this box. Box has gold lettering, "Luria's est 1898". Luria's jewelers began in 1898 in NYC, but eventually ended up in Miami where it was a highly regarded retail store for fine & interesting jewelry. From a collection of mid century art, furniture & jewelry, much of the jewelry in the modernist taste, many items from known studio artists of the mid century. Good vintage condition, abrasions to the surface of the pendant, slight wear to the velvet box, sold as is. Chain has a slightly yellowish hue.
