I am pretty sure this is an authentic vintage German military cap, & it is a blue color with black bill. The front brim is made of stiff leather which is in good condition, & the cap bill holds its shape & is easy to wipe clean. The canvas hat is in fair condition, with some distortion of the hat, probably due to prolonged storage, & one very small hole on the top of the hat (please see photo 6 around the 4 o'clock position). The hat is marked Size 56 which is the equivalent of a Size 7 or Medium. The German maker & the date - 1965 - is marked on the underside of the hat. The inside brim is in POOR condition & will likely need to be replaced. The cap measures about 10 3/4" long by 10" wide, the peak is 4 5/8" high at the front & it slopes down to 2" high at the back. in fair condition overall as it is not quite in round & because of the inner brim condition.
