This incredible Mayer China T-569 "Poppy" pattern 8 oz. teapot is in excellent, seemingly-unused condition. It measures 3¾" tall to the rim, 5¼" tall to the finial, 2½" across the rim, & 2" across the base. There are no chips, dings or scratches. The glaze is perfectly smooth, shiny & slippery all over, including the rim, edge of the lid, top of the knob, outer edge of the handle, & the tip of the spout. There are no "contact marks" on the high points of the body. There are minor green "smudges" on the final & rim (fifth photo), & a few light "freckles" on the side of the handle (fourth photo). Occurring in production, blemishes such a this were common on vintage restaurant ware & not considered damage. The blurred date code appears to be "452" for the last quarter of 1952. We consider "Poppy" to be one of the most attractive patterns in mid-century restaurant ware. We're very pleased to be able to offer this pristine, hard-to-find teapot.
