Thanks for visiting our shop! Cheers! . A lovely Art Deco silver-plated figural graduated jigger, 1930s. This figural jigger resembles a Snow Man shape (similar to the 1930s Art Deco Snow Man cork bottle opener). While this piece isn't hallmarked, we're fairly certain it's Napier. We'd recogonize a Napier piece (and their silver-plating) anywhere. This piece features a graduated jigger that has a stepped design along with 1/2 oz, 1 1/2 oz & 1 oz indicators & a "Snow Man" silhouette with curved arms, eyes, & a button nose. Truly a magnificent figural piece. Again, this piece is NOT hallmarked "Napier" but we're fairly certain it's Napier. They made a few promotional pieces that weren't hallmarked/stamped & we believe this might be one of them. Here's a quick summary on the company: The Napier Company was named after its president, James H. Napier, who led the company from 1920 to 1960. But the company's history can be tracked back to 1875 when it was founded as Whitney & Rice in Attleboro, Mass., manufacturing silver products. The firm changed hands & name in 1882 & became Carpenter & Bliss & shortly thereafter, E.A. Bliss & Co., Inc. After rapid expansion in the late 1880s the company moved to Meriden, CT in 1890. After WWI, the firm shifted emphasis from silver products to production of modern jewelry. James Napier became president in 1920 & the company adopted the name Napier - Bliss Co. in 1922, the name was changed to Napier Company. Like many jewelry companies Napier got into lines of art objects & other utilitarian objects like cocktail shakers. in the early to mid 1930s they started producing several cocktail shakers (most notably the "Dial a Drink shaker" & the Rooster motif shaker) other pieces of barware including their well-known 3-in-1 graduated bar spoons & stepped jiggers. Measurements: Approx. 4" tall Maker: Unknown Hallmarks: None Condition: Good/fair vintage condition with obvious signs of age & wear. We're including "fair" in the Condition Summary due to some noticeable age to the silver-plating. While Napier was known for some magical barware, they weren't known for applying heavy silver-plating. This jigger has general surface wear including what we refer to as age "spots" & "scratches" in the silver-plating. Please note: this piece is also a bit "rustic" in design as the upper figural piece was hand-forged. You can see where the front & back of the Snow Man's "body" was sautered together & there's a small, intentional "gap" between the front & back. There's also some darker areas (where it was
