On offer here is a very delightful pair of original Photochrome Postcards with scenes of San Diego at the turn of the last century. A very cool pair of original vintage postcards which would also look good framed. ➼ ASK ABOUT COMBINED POSTAGE ON POSTCARDS! The cards have a nice look to them. The first has an image of the Oxford Hotel, on 5th Avenue in the Gaslamp district. The card has not been used & has "St. Diego" written on the back in pencil, & a small bit of the printed caption abraded. The Oxford Hotel was built in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego in 1914, just in time for the Panama-California Exposition of 1915. The building, at the northeast corner of Fifth Avenue & F street, & from 1920 became the William Penn Hotel. Antique cars & people are visible in the foreground. The caption on the front reads: OXFORD HOTEL, Fifth Street at the corner of F San Diego, Cal. C. STRAUB, Mgr. The back reads: Caption on the back of the card reads: "The hotel is centrally located; the equipment is the very latest; the service is the best at moderate prices." Divided back.
