Description
The wood frame was made during the arts & crafts era. Dark wood with leaves on the corners & a border of gold trim on the inside. Now the art work is very unusual I am calling it yarn work because the carriage, brown horse & Victorian dressed folks are made from yarn. The rest of the background including the black horse , back ground trees are painted on. The back ground fabric is linen. Now the frame is very nice, however the stitchery fabric did not extent to the length of the frame so they put a piece of gray tape on each end. Now you can leave it as is. add another piece of wood, or fabric or paint it or replace with another nice print. Please notice on the wood frame on the top corners on each side the additional leaf cut art work is missing,. Don't know if they came off or the artist got tired & did not finish them. You can leave it as it, or remove the two bottom leaves or have a wood carver cut out the 2 leaves. The glass is in good condition & the wood back is original to the frame. Measuring 26 inches long & 13 inches wide on the frame only. The inside measures 21 inches by 8 inches. There is glass over the linen I have it hung on my wall & it looks pretty nice even with the ends of the fabric being the way they are.
