Description
The glass to this large rare Owen Illinois brown glass canning jar is in excellent condition & has the Owen Illinois maker's mark on the bottom along with the number 2000 & the numbers 4, 0 & 12. The 0 code to the right means it was made in 1930 & the 4 plant code to the left means it was made in Clarksburg West Virginia The lid unfortunately has several holes in it (see photos), but the white porcelain lining is still fully intact. The porcelain lining is embossed with 'Boyd's Genuine Porcelain Lined Cap' & has the Hazel Atlas trademark in the center. This jar holds up to 8 cups of liquid (i.e. 2 quarts).
