Can't find another so going to call this rare. in 1942 the US Navy opened 4 Pre-Flight schools at schools around the country to quickly train future Navy & Marine Corps Aviators to meet the demand during WWII. One of them was Commissioned at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. The ashtray was likely lifted as a souvenir of their time training there which was an 11 week course. Future astronaut & Senator John Glenn was in one of the first classes. The graphics are good, has a chip to a foot on the bottom, measures 3 5/8" Vintage Circa 1942-1944 U.s.
