Here is a 1896 color map of New York state that was saved from "The Werner Grammar School Geography, Part II, The World in Map & Picture", by Horace S. Tarbell. The book was published by the Werner School Book Company of Akron, Ohio. The rectangular map is comprised of two pages from the book that are attached, so that there is no separation in the center fold of the map. The book was made this way. The pages are not two separate pages. The back of the map has small world maps featuring thing like races of man, prevailing religions, annual rainfall, etc. The New York map is pink. There are two insets, one of Buffalo & Niagara Falls region & the other is New York City. Those are colored yellow. There is no date or printers name on any of the pages. The total measurement of the New York map side is 12 1/4" x 19 5/8". When the map is folded it measures 10 1/4" x 12 1/4". There is a good amount of border so it can be easily framed to display in your home or office. There are no rips. There are some tiny little creases in the center of the page that you can see in the photos. There are a few small dark spots near the center fold line.
