The photo in the image is the exact coin you will get. This is a genuine coin. This 1864 1/4 dollar is made of gold mined from California during the gold rush of 1849. Private parties would make these coins with the intention of using them as currency, but the coins were too small & would eventually become souvenirs sent back home from the miners. They were also very popular jewelry pieces.These tokens/charms are quite small varying from 10-13 mm across, with 25 cent versions running toward the smaller end & 50 cent versions running toward the larger end.
