A beautiful original signed, Charter Certificate of the Independent Order of Foresters. This amazing colored lithograph has gorgeous designs from the 1870's when the organization was first formed. The Independent Order of Foresters is a fraternal society founded in the 1870's & in keeping with the times offered life & disability insurance to their members. Over the years, the insurance business gained dominance over the fraternal aspect of the order. This is a charter certificate for the sub Court "Dixie" No. 1561 in Columbus, Georgia signed on July 9, 1974. It has a wooden frame & a burlap mat.
