Stunning Sgraffito vase from 1922 by Josef Ekberg for Gustavsberg, Sweden. Flower motif in Swedish Jugend (or Art Nouveau) style decorates the vase in blue shades. Josef Ekberg was a Swedish ceramic artist that worked at Gustavsberg between 1889-1945. He is most known for his Sgraffito technique that he developed at Gustavsberg. His signature is visible at the bottom of the vase together with the year made & Gustavsberg. Age appropriate wear with small marks an overall in a very good condition.
