This is a wonderfully clean piece that I believe has been correctly identified as Scheibe Alsbach out of Germany. The S mark before the number is what leads me to this conclusion, but I am always open to learn if you have other suggestions. This mark came out in 1925. Regardless, it is lovely piece that is actually quite ornate with the pink, gold & green. The male suitor has a guitar to play a song for his beloved intended... I suppose it could be a lute. It is shaped like a vase, though I would not fill it with water, I'd use dry flowers or display as is. Many of the bisque pieces from this time period were not painted, but left plain white. This piece is simply beautiful. Please note the textured putti in the vase as well as a the larger cherub face to the front. It has a very fountain-esque feel to me. This piece was lovingly displayed, complete with felt around the edges to protect furniture. I see no evidence of previous damage or repair. There are a couple very light scuffs to the piece, it is otherwise immaculate & would be a great addition to your German bisque collection. It is 8 7/8" tall, & 4 5/8 x 3.5" across the base.
