Each basket is expertly hand-woven from native dried Elephant grass, taking days to even weeks to complete. Basket weaving has become an integral part of the social structure of many Bolgatanga villages & provides income for up to some 10,000 persons, namely women. All of our Bolga baskets are Fair Trade certified. The Tisanie-Tia' style basket or vase features a fully woven symmetrical design with a restrained, yet colourful patterning; with a little fun on top.
