Vintage "Tibetan silver" pendant beaded necklace features an ornately decorated cylindrical pendant with domed ends sporting a long, oval-shaped deep blue stone (I think it's lapis lazuli). The pendant has 3 teardrop-shaped dangles set with the same blue stones. The pendant is centered between rows of small, flat metallic beads (a soft gold color) & larger wooden beads. Altogether it is a feast of textures. "Tibetan silver" is a term used to describe a metal alloy often used in jewelry from this part of the world (Tibet, Nepal, Northern India, the Himalayas, even Afghanistan). It may or may not contain any silver. It is usually something similar to nickel silver. in this case, the metals are both silver - & gold-toned. None of the metal is attracted to a magnet. Size: Pendant is 1-1/4" tall x 1-3/4" wide. Necklace is about 16" long. Age: 1960s to 1970s (estimated). Fastener: J hook Marks: Unmarked Condition: Very good pre-owned condition. No major flaws.
