This vintage Shenango China 13" x 8¾" white oval platter with a grey stencil airbrush pattern appears to be absolutely unused. Produced on a heavy, rolled-edge body, it's in pristine condition with no chips, dings, scratches, stains, or dishwasher damage. The glaze is extremely smooth, shiny & slippery all-over, even on the outer & upper rim & base ring. It was made with Shenango's patented "Rim-Rol" added ring which helped to prevent edge chipping (second & third photos). This feature added to the cost, so the purchaser was serious about durability! Without a date code, we estimate this platter was made circa mid-1940s to early 1950s. We've not been able to determine if Shenango had a name for this pattern & coloration. It looks great mixed-and-matched with other airbrushed patterns of the 1940s to 1960s. We're diligent & uncompromising packers with decades of experience. This platter will be padded, snugly wrapped in layers of bubble wrap, then packed in a roomy, peanut-filled carton.
