Vintage original Maxfield Parrish framed art print. called Pierrot's Serenade. This is an original published lithograph dating to the early 1900s. The print is in excellent condition with colors that are vibrant, crisp & clean & framed in original period frame. There is no foxing, tears or water-damage. The composition is very typical of Parrish's work. Beautiful bold colors, with a close-up view of a personality. Pierrot the clown is serenading in the sunset. He is comfortably sitting on the edge of a wall. His leg pulled up to support the instrument leaving his right shoe tucked inside his pant leg. The colors in this work are classic Parrish, rich & engaging. Maxfield Parrish (1870 - 1966) was an American painter & illustrator active in the first half of the 20th century. He is known for his distinctive saturated hues & idealized neo-classical imagery. The image measures 13.75" H x 9.75" W The frame measures 15 by 12 inches. The frame is homemade oak, painted black.
