Happy to combine shipping. Smokehouse padlocks got their name because they were widely used in the late 1800s to lock up meat in smokehouses. Although they were made with simple lever mechanisms, "Smokeys" provided a greater level of protection to people who couldn't afford more sophisticated padlocks. As early as 1910, improved manufacturing methods & efficiencies meant that more secure & affordable padlocks could be manufactured. Smokehouse locks soon fell out of favor & some of the largest American smokehouse companies went completely out of business.
