Seraphim, Angels of God: Gloria in Excelsis Deo (Glory to God) This design was inspired by the worship scene found in Isaiah chapter 6. {6:1} in the year that king Ozias died, I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne high & elevated: & his train filled the temple. {6:2} Upon it stood the seraphims: the one had six wings, & the other had six wings: with two they covered his face, & with two they covered his feet, & with two they flew. {6:3} & they cried one to another, & said: Holy, holy, holy, the Lord God of hosts, all the earth is full of his glory, {6:4} & the lintels of the doors were moved at the voice of him that cried, & the house was filled with smoke. There seraphim are "the burning ones" burning with charity & love, cloaked in their six wings or in this case six pairs of wings!
