Circa 1972 Bucilla White House Heirlooms Embroidered Mill Scene Kit Finished size is about 18x23" but the actual linen measures about 20.5x26.75" Includes a piece of natural color 100% linen fabric, 100% crewel wool, 100% cotton floss, & instructions. Also included are pages 103-104 of the August, 1972 Family Circle with color ads for 6 different kits. in addition, a printed letter from Julie Nixon Eisenhower explaining the kit series & how all proceeds from sales were going "to the White House Historical Association whose function is to preserve & maintain the splendid heritage of" the White House. Needle is not included. Ms. Nixon Eisenhower explains that she asked Karen Rosen to design this pattern from an original hanging in a 3rd floor guest room in the White House. The original was made in 1830 by Catherine L. Lansing with silk on silk. Plastic package is opened. There are several tiny rust spots in the linen from where the needle was- see last photo. Otherwise unused & in Excellent condition.
