For sale is a very collectible late 1960's/early 1970's vintage square scarf from New York City's "21" Club. Jack & Charlie's "21" Club began giving out scarves at Christmas in the early 1950s. Scarves were produced in myriad designs annually & always included either the iron gates logo, the iconic lawn jockey, or both. They were discontinued sometime in the late 1970s. The scarf has hand rolled edges, & soft polyester fabric. The theme is the game of card playing, with a print of playing cards all over. With Roman Numerals of XXIX, this is #29 in the series. The 21 Club's iconic iron gates & lawn jockeys appear alongside playing cards. While the earliest scarves in this series were silk, later versions moved into a blend or polyester. The scarf was designed by RAY STRAUSS for The 21-Club, & made in Japan. Coloring is a toffee brown, red, black, white, & blue. The scarf is in excellent condition, comes from a pet/smoke-free home.
