Certified Organic Baical Skullcap seeds, Scutellaria baicalensis Quantity: 25 Seeds Planting Depth: Barely cover Spacing: 12" - 24" apart Germination 7 - 14 days Full sun to part shade Certified Organic by Oregon Tilth USA Grown Baical skullcap (Scutellaria baicalensis) is a herbaceous perennial plant that is native to Asia. The plant is characterized by its tall spikes of blue or purple flowers & its large, heart-shaped leaves. To plant Baical skullcap seeds, follow these steps: Choose a suitable location: Baical skullcap prefers full sun or partial shade & well-drained soil. It is not picky about soil type but will grow best in fertile soil. Prepare the soil: Loosen the soil to a depth of about 6 inches & add compost or other organic matter to improve soil fertility. Sow the seeds: Barely cover the seeds & spaced about 12" - 24" inches apart. Water the seeds: Water the seeds gently & keep the soil moist, but not waterlogged. Wait for germination: It takes about 7 to 14 days for the seeds to germinate. Once the seeds have germinated, thin out the seedlings so they are spaced 18 inches apart. Care for the plants: Keep the soil consistently moist, but not waterlogged. Baical skullcap is not very demanding in terms of nutrients, but a light application of fertilizer can be applied every few weeks to encourage healthy growth.
